WINNING BUSINESS WOMEN OF THE YEAR 2021! Every award and accolade the Learn to Shine school receives is amazing, but this award was extra special. To be selected from hundreds of applicants from the Kent County simply blew me away and makes all the hard work worth it. This award is dedicated to all of the families who have placed their faith in me and become like my own family. We rock! x

Learn to Shine school is a regional WINNER!

Learn to Shine was thrilled and delighted to win the Women in Creative Arts category in the Kent Women in Business awards 2020. Competition was fierce across the region and it was an inspirational night! Learn to Shine was also shortlisted for the Mumpreneur category 2020. Learn to Shine school makes the press again!

We were delighted to see our students make the news recently for all their hard work and learning on our third enrichment day. Students got to learn all about the lives of chickens and bees, using physical exercises to de-stress, ride a fire engine, learn to cook, and even pump up a real life lung with our visiting Doctor! As ever, every student made me feel so proud to take on each new challenge with such enthusiasm.

Our Students are SHINING!

Jess came to me a year ago suffering great anxiety about school and about Maths in particular. She was recently diagnosed with ADHD and ASD and found her lessons in school overwhelming. We have worked really hard and as a result, Jess has not only gone back to loving her learning, but she has just won the HEADTEACHER award for most progress! Absolutely brilliant Jess!

Learn to Shine wins NATIONAL awards!

I am delighted to announce that Learn to Shine has just won a National Mpower Business award for the 'INSPIRE' category! With hundreds of entries from across the country, this is both humbling and wonderful news! Thank you as ever to all of my students and their families who continue to support Learn to Shine, and achieve with me as a team! My success is yours, too. xox

We are delighted to announce that baby Isadora finally joined the Learn to Shine family earlier in February! Like her brother, she has been enjoying oodles of cuddles with our lovely pupils. She looks set to hold a pencil very soon!

New book!

Keep checking back to see what's happening with Artie's book!

  • NEW: Children's book!

I have now completed writing my first ever children's book! (well, not including the one I wrote about woodlice and dustballs when I was seven). It is based on the adventures of our Artie, so it is a real labour of love. I am now in the process of researching publishing groups, word counts, age groups and all sorts of things that take FAR longer than you'd ever expect! It will all be worth it though in the end!
    Watch this space! x

  • Illustrations ready!

Although it is taking longer than writing the book itself, and fitting it around Artie time and teaching, illustrations for my book are coming on gradually. Only a few to go! Hope you like them!
